FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS. 

  • All Lifecare Ambulance Service vehicles are registered and licensed with Land Transport New Zealand operating as "Commercial Ambulance" vehicles. This also ensures that all vehicles have a Land Transport Number and Certificate Of Fitness.

  • Any paramedics employed or contracted to Lifecare Ambulance Service are New Zealand Registered Paramedic's under New Zealand Law.

  • We can provide ambulance transport from an event to hospital under prior arrangement with the event organizers as this will require us to put our on-call team on standby for an ambulance call.

  • All our staff hold a variety of qualifications and those who are Emergency Medical Technicians or New Zealand Registered Paramedics also hold an Authority To Practice issued by our Medical Director who is a current practicing New Zealand Registered Doctor. 

  • Lifecare Ambulance Service follows  best practice of NZS8156:2019 Ambulance and paramedical service standards (Event, Commercial, and Paramedical Services Section) this includes having an appointed Medical Director (Doctor) specializing in Emergency Medicine. 

  • All staff have a delegated Authority To Practice (ATP). Levels are determined by the Medical Director, Senior Clinical Leadership Team.

  • We have the capacity and capability to respond to emergency calls by the public when a frontline ambulance is not available or there is a lengthy wait time for a frontline ambulance to respond.

  • All staff are New Zealand and Australian police vetted and are required to be re vetted every 12 months to continue operational duties.

  • Lifecare Ambulance Service are a recognized and registered vendor with ACC New Zealand and the Ministry Of Social Development.

  • We operate and work alongside a range of other ambulance providers throughout New Zealand which helps when it comes to providing medical crews for large events anywhere in New Zealand.

  • We carry a range of pain relief and medications that are not available to those without an Authority To Practice  or  have a New Zealand Registered Doctor. This allows us to provide a higher-level care than some providers.

  • All our communications systems are all run in house and through our own Medical Dispatcher. This means there is no error when relaying messages to other crews or if we require a frontline ambulance for patient transport.

  • All event organizers will receive a daily incident report outline what medical crews treated throughout the day. This better helps event organizer's with future planning when it comes to their Health And Safety plans or council tenders.
